Kashar Pastry with Sesame – Get the recipe: See description below
Ingredients
1 cup of Milk (Lukewarm)
¼ cup of Vegetable oil
1 + ½ Tbsp of Butter (at room temperature)
1 pack (10 g – 2 tsp) of Yeast
1 Tbsp of Sugar
1 + ½ tsp of Salt
1 Egg
4 + ½ cups of Flour
FOR THE STUFFING:
100 g of Kashar Cheese
FOR THE TOPPING:
1 Egg Yolk
½ cup of Sesame
Directions
1- Pout the warm milk and yeast into a large mixing bowl and whisk thoroughly.
2- Add the sugar and salt and keep mixing till it all melts.
3- Once it has melted, add the oil, butter and egg.
4- Add the flour slowly and work it until you get a soft dough.
5- Cover the dough with stretch film and leave to ferment for 30-40 minutes.
6- Take a piece of dough after it has fermented and rested and spread it in your palm.
7- Put some kashar cheese in and then wrap it nice and tidy before you put it on the baking tray.
8- Brush egg yolk on the pastries you put in the tray and sprinkle generous amount of sesame seeds.
9- Bake them in a preheated oven at 350°F / 180°C until golden brown.
