Ingredients of Leaf Rolls

For the stuffing:
500 g of Pickled Grape Leaves
1 cup of Hot Water
1 cup of Olive oil
3 medium-size Onions
2 cups of Rice
2 Tbsp of Pine Nut
2 Tbsp of Blackcurrants
2 tsp of Salt
2 tsp of Black Pepper
2 tsp of Mint
1 tsp of Allspice
½ tsp of Cinnamon

For Cooking:
2 cups of Hot Water
6 Tbsp of Olive oil
1 Lemon

Directions

1- First, rest the leaves in boiling hot water for 30 minutes, then drain to wash away the salt.
2- Chop the onions finely and fry in olive oil.
3- Add the nuts into the onions as you keep frying for another 3 minutes and then add in the soaked rice.
4- Add the rest of the ingredients.
5- Lastly, add a cup of hot water and cook the stuffing on low heat until it boils down.
6- Spread the leaves on the benchtop with the vein sides down.
7- Fold the edges inward and wrap them on the wide side.
8- After wrapping all the leaves, lay the remaining pieces of broken leaves on the bottom of the pot.
9- Put the stuffed leaves orderly in the pot.
10- Slice the lemon and put over the leaves.
11- Finally, add two cups of water and 6 tablespoons of olive oil into the pot and cook on low heat for 50-60 minutes.
