Ingredients

For the pastry:
180 g Butter (12 Tbsp) (at room temperature)
1/2 cup Vegetable oil (120 ml)
1 Tbsp Yogurt (15 g)
1 Egg
¼ cup Sugar (50 g)
1 pack of Vanilla (5 g) (1 tsp)
4 +1/2 cups Flour (630 g)

For the stuffing:
30 pieces of Dates
1 cup Crushed Walnuts
1 tsp Cinnamon (5 g)
4 Tbsp Water (60 ml)

For the topping:
3 Tbsp Icing Sugar (30 g)

Directions

  1. To prepare the dough, put all the ingredients, except the flour, into a mixing bowl and mix by hand.
  2. Add in the flour slowly to make it into the paste and let it rest for 20 minutes.
  3. To prepare the stuffing, chop the ingredients in the food processor.
  4. Once the pastry is rested, roll out in 1 cm thick and cut it with a cookie cutter.
  5. Make the stuffing into roller shape with your hands and put it in the pastry you have cut and wrap it.
  6. Bake it in a preheated oven at 325° F / 170° C for 20-25 minutes until light golden brown.
  7. Sprinkle icing sugar once the cookies cool down.
