Ingredients for Apple Pie

125 g of Butter (at room temperature)
1 Egg
110 ml (1/2 cup) of Olive oil
5 g (1 tsp-half a pack) of Baking powder
5 g (1 tsp-1 pack) of Vanilla
280 g (2+1/8 cups) of Flour (as much as required)

Apple Pie mix:
5 Apples
7 g (1/2 Tbsp) of Butter
90 g (1/3 cup + 2 Tbsp) of Sugar (depending on the sourness of apple)
120 g (1 cup) of Walnut
1 tsp Cinnamon

For the topping:
Icing Sugar

Directions

Mix 125 g of butter, 1 egg and ¼ cup olive oil in a mixing bowl at room temperature. Work it by adding 280 g of flour. Add half a pack of baking soda, 1 pack of vanilla and ¼ cup olive oil and work it until you get a soft dough. Put away an orange-sized piece from the prepared dough, to grate it later on the top. Wrap the two pieces of dough with stretch film and let them rest in the fridge for at least 15 minutes. (You can keep the piece you put away for use on top, in the freezer, for easy grating.)

Grate the 5 apples you peeled, on the coarse side of the grater and put it in a pan. Add half a tablespoon of butter and some sugar depending on the taste of the apple (we used 7 tablespoons of sugar). Mince 1 cup of walnut, add it on top of the apple mix, along with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon. Cook until the apples boil down and let it cool off.

Grease a big-size, round shaped pyrex pan and place the rested dough in with your hand. Make some holes with a fork. Spread the cooled apple mix evenly over it. Grate the orange-size, reserved dough, on top using the course side of the grater.

Bake for about 20-25 minutes in the oven pre-heated to 350°F / 180°C degrees, until golden brown on both top and bottom.

Once cooled down, sprinkle icing sugar on top before serving. (You can slice without crumbling, if you wait 1-2 hours,)

Bon appetite…

Note: If you wish, you can make your pie with other fruits of your choice.
